Lunch with a cousin

On 3 March 2026 a cousin in Fustat had set lunch for 12:30. That clock was the trim. We entered NMEC at 08:50. Omar spent the morning on crafts, textiles, and ceramics — the rooms that explain how a civilization makes things — and left the royal mummies unvisited on purpose. Two ethics would not fit before lunch. Out at 11:05, at the table by 12:35. The hush rooms remain for another date. Distance on a map is not an insult. Pay it with time. The taxi is the first metre of the lamp.
